    Basic Gunfighting 101
    by: Michael T. Rayburn

I have read a number of books by many of the popular trainers...many good ones that cover the gamet of self defense. One of the best is this book. Officer Rayburn trains LE and private CCWs...this book applies to both.

I like the way it covers the basics of why we carry, why we need to be prepared and what we need to do to be prepared. The second chapter on "myth v. reality" is an eye opener. It covers (and explains well) a lot of things that most of us don't think about, but certainly should know.

The book contains a number of useful drills and does a great job of discussing movement, CQB, low light/no light, multible attackers, dog attacks, reloading and so on. Again, these topics are touched on in many of the books I have read.

The difference is the way they are presented and discussed in this book that sets it apart. No fancy ninja crap...just realistic explanations and techniques that we can actually learn.

If you are looking for good book for your self-defense library I urge you to give it a look...if you are like me, you will find yourself dog-earing the pages like a good repair manual.

I have a copy of Basic Gunfighting 101 and was lucky enough to take a two day class with Mike. I'd thoroughly endorse what Hunting Coyotes has written about the book, it's no nonsense, down to earth and what Mike teaches, works!

    I rate it very highly.
