Is my PPS missing a piece??!?

I was just cleaning and inspecting my new PPS 9mm and I noticed that towards the rear of the gun handle there seems to be a place where maybe a through bolt should be located? I took some pictures, is this the same with all your PPS's out there? Sorry the pics aren't so great, they are from a Motorola Q Global.

Check your manual - does it have a parts diagram?

Not the best pic's.... But it looks to me as the 2nd pic has a hollow pin in it.... The 1st pic SEEMS to have the pin missing..... Don't have the weapon, just looking at the pic's...

In that pic it looks like there's a roll pin inserted in that hole, in the OPs pic it almost looks like the roll pin is gone, hard to tell with the lighting though...

After looking more closely, I agree. It does look like it could be a roll pin. Good call.

I'll see if I can find a better pic somewhere.

if there is suppose to be a roll pin there, there is just way too much light coming thru to make me think it is installed. I wonder why there would be a unused thru hole there.....
    question...did you get 2 mags (6 & 7rd)when you bought your PPS?
Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it ......

Yup, it looks like there's a roll pin missing there. Here's a pic that clearly show one. Hop that helps..

I could be wrong, but it kinda looks like there's a roll pin in the PPS in question. Hard to tell by the fuzzy pictures.

It looks like you're missing the roll pin that secures the sear housing into the grip frame.

Here's a parts diagram of the PPS: http://www.carlwalther.com/docs/pps_2753880.pdf

Looks like part 21 is missing.

I just checked mine. It looks exactly the same. I'd bet that the roll pin is in there. If you are having doubts take it back to the place you bought it and have someone with more experience check it out for you. I think it's ok though.

Please let us know the outcome when you find out for sure.

Thanks everyone for responding, it does look like I have the role pin in there. I guess I just overreacted a little bit when seeing a hole in my firearm....

To answer your question, no I didn't get two mags. I had to order a 6 round mag because it only came with one 7 round mag. But right now Walther is running a promotion for a free magazine when you buy a PPS. Catch is that it will take 2 months to get here, I guess God is telling me I need to learn some patience.

Obviously the hole is to attach the retention lanyard like you standard digital camera has! Just thread the lanyard thru the hole and tie a know on the other side. When in a gun fight or at the range now you will not have to worry about dropping your gun.
