    70 series Colt Combat Commander

I picked this up for 800. The guy was asking a grand, I wanted to pay 700. We compromised. Mechanically, it is like a brand new one. I bet it hasn't had a hundred rounds shot. I'm going to shoot it often, carry it a little, and love it alot.

    Beautiful piece.

    I don't have a 1911 yet, but I'm sure I will.

Nice score! Thats definately a keeper. I like the arched mainspring over the flat as that's what I was trained on years ago when I first qualified on the 1911 in the Coast Guard.

I too just bought a 80 series Commander in stainless for my EDC weapon. Have over 350 rounds (100 WWB, 250+ Speer Gold Dots) through it and it's now gained my confidence as I had a terrible time with a Springer Champion and was shorty 1911 shy.

    Congrats

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, I like that too. Seems like it just guides your hand into proper grip placement.

Looking at the photo once again, I note that the pistol has the MMC adjustable rear sight with the white outline, which was the very same sight I used on MY Combat Commander until I ultimately replaced both front and rear with Trijicons!

That particular MMC version worked great because it fit into the existing rear notch without having to make a modifying cut in the slide and allowed one to retain the original front sight, thereby avoiding the expense of its replacement.
