    Another weekend score...

Another weekend score.......price was too low to mention here, don't want to be hated by you folks. I own several 1911's from semi custom guns to an RIA Government model and honestly the low end RIA performs remarkably well for a low end platform, so when I found this pre-owned (local trade) RIA compact I offered and the owner accepted my low ball offer, maybe it was the friend I had just sent by who bought a $1200 O/U shotgun from him earlier in the week. Some new grips and a Wilson Combat trigger and sear, and new springs and it should be good to go. I did not need this gun but I am in the I just wanted it and could not pass it up stage now I guess.

When I leave the home port:
S&W 642 Airweight, Ruger SP 101, Colt Detective Spec., CZ RAMI, Kahr PM9, Kahr CW40, S&W Model 10-7, Glock 30, 19, and 26, Browning Hi Power, CZ82, Colt Commander, Dan Wesson PM7, Ruger LCP

Nice little 1911. I've heard a lot of good things about the compact RIA.

    Congrats.

I hear nothing but good things about ria 1911's.Most everyone who buys them are pleasantly surprised by there performance. Everybody ought to own one 1911
as it's a piece of our heritage.

The RIA seems to be an oft overlooked value in the 1911 market. very nice grab.

Nice! Get rid of the tacky grip tape.

I like the basic Govt. model 1911s better than any of the fancy prima-donna models.

    Now, go out and enjoy!

Nice piece. I haven't had a lick of problems with mine. Great carry gun, works great with a Cross Breed Supertuck.

However, I have to admit that I am going to trade for a G23. Only because I shoot much better with the Glock than the RIA.

Yeah, the grip tape had to go first thing. I went ahead and placed an order with Brownell's and installed a new Wilson Combat comp trigger and sear, and new wolf springs all around (sear, main, recoil, FP) and added new grips. I like the looks and the oh so smooth trigger pull now. When you work on these handguns yourself you get a true appreciation for the true genius of JMB. Also as far as RIA quality as opposed to more hi end 1911 makers. I have had many different 1911 apart over the years including Colts, Kimbers, Paras, Dan Wessons and Springfields and with the RIA I see nothing internally that makes me think its less gun. Great 1911 platform for the money, I still have less than $400 in this gun total, thats hard to beat.
