    9mm 1911's!! Who carries them??

I stopped in a gunshop that I don't get by very often and in his case he has a NIB Springfield 1911 Target 9mm. It is stainless with the ambi safety, pretty well loaded up with a sweet trigger. I can get it for less than $800 tax included. Does anybody carry 9mm 1911's?? I am trying to keep all of my handguns in 9mm... trying to talk myself into it...thanks Robbie

Close to a 1911, but it is a Browning High Power. Priced a little better, larger mag and a natural pointing handgun, just like the 1911.

    Buying a .45 get a 1911, buying a 9mm get an HP.

I think somewhere in this realm. If I'm going to get a 1911 in 9 I'm gonna get a Springfield EMP. Browning is another good option.

I really REALLY want an EMP. Springfield built it from the ground up for 9mm unlike what most companies do who rework their 1911's to fit 9mm. You may even want to check out the Springfield XD if the Glock isn't your thing. It points more like a 1911 than Glocks do. I love mine.

1911's were meant to be .45's...get the Glock-19 and you have complete dependability, that's easily concealed.

I have a Hi Power...I just like the 1911 platform...the HKP7 is the best shooting handgun I have ever owned...just not flashy.

The Ruger sr-9 is thin like the 1911 and has a similar manual safety, glock trigger best of glock and 1911...but 17+1 rounds.
You may not like guns. You may choose not to own one. That is your right.
You might not believe in God. That is your choice.
However, if someone breaks into your home at 3AM the first two things you are going to do are:
    1) Call someone with a gun.
2)Pray they get there in time." - A wise man

Now and then I'll hear someone extol the virtues of the government 1911 chambered in 9mm. I'm sure it gets back on target extremely quickly.

I've been considering an EMP or a micro-sized 1911 in 9mm. Don't really see much out there though.

I am interested in the Dan Wesson Guardian, but have yet to see one on Gunbroker.

For an all-steel commander or government model 1911, I think .45acp is the cat's meow.

I routinely carry 1911s in .45, BUT recently I've been shooting informal IDPA matches with a friend who shoots a Springfield 1911 in 9mm. There is no question the gun is faster in recoil recovery and cheaper to shoot than my .45s. If I shot a lot more than I do now, I would seriously consider that gun for the games to maintain the same "manual of arms" that's so familiar to me.

For defense, though, I'll stick with the .45.

Got a Springfield Loaded 9mm in fullsize. I dont carry it because its a monster. It is rediculously accurate and easy to shoot with little recoil. Shooting one handed combat drills can easily score 10's with ease.
