Scary... I have actually wondered if this was possible with an acceptable outcome. Congratulations! You win... Great job. The pattern and stop points look excellent.
As far as where I stopped, I just got a good grip on the frame, and looked at where my firing hand thumb ended, and went just about an 1/8th" past that.
eh...smart thing would be to make 2-3 different sized templates. Something like a small .5x.5 square, 1x1 and 2x2 or something. Each plate would have like 50 small pins welded to the bottom and would have a solder iron attachment neck or something. Mass tupperware grippy rollout tool
Wow that is great work! I would be in a world of hurt if I tried it, and I consider myself handy with a soldering iron. You should add to your post, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME AS IT COULD CAUSE POSSIBLE SUDDEN DEATH IF YOU SCREW UP. ONLY TRAINED PROFESSIONALS ARE ADVISED TO PROCEED! Seriously that is awesome!
Good job. Takes a bit of courage to dive in with a soldering iron, doesn't it?
It's funny, but just the past couple of days I have wondered about a custom stippling job on the P2000SK.
What I'd love to achieve is a mild melting that includes a slight reshaping and grip size reduction, along with a stippling job that looks something like this (see below, which is a photo of someone's Glock on the internet that was stippled).
Imagine ... never slipping due to sweat, water, blood, whatever.
If I had a camera I would show you my XDm I stippled a few weeks ago. Not nearly as well as yours. I just did the high points on the grip, went up around the grip safety, and the thumb rests. Nicely done!
