I have been reading various gun forums and hearing that the 1911 .45APC is the
ONLYway to go so I am going to the local gun shop tomorrow and check out a few. I won't spend over $1,000 so I don't know what I will come away with. What ever I get may become my EDC and retire my G19.

Do you have any idea of what kind of 1911 you want, or are you just going intent on spending $$ on one tomorrow? I would do a bit more research and know what you want before you fork over the cash.
Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with a 1911, but if your going to make it your EDC, you really need to do some homework.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

You won't be getting rid of the Glock is my bet. Sure, you'll carry the 1911 at first, then little by little you'll be back with the Glock 98% of the time...JMO

That G19 is a good gun......don't be too quick to put it to pasture. Shoot a few 1911's first before you 'pull that trigger'.

That's not a bad choice. But then again everyone needs to have at least one 1911. The only real problem is that you get what you pay for and a quality 1911 is going to cost you $$$.Keep the G-19, get a G-30 or 36, buy more ammo. and take a course in point shooting...all for $1K.
