Considering a new carry 1911

So I went out with my dad for lunch today for my birthday and my birthday gift was a 200.00 gift certificate for my local gun shop :) combined with all the money I have saved in the last 2 months from not smoking (about 300.00) I am SERIOUSLY considering plunking down my money on a nice carry 1911. I don't really know much about them but I have been eyeing the kimber pro carry. I like the weight and I like the 4 inch barrel. Any other suggestions of 1911's around the same price point/weight with a 4 inch barrel?

I'd go with a SA, I'm a heavy believer in their products, there are plenty of other 1911's out there that are equally good....just not Kimber.

Kimbers firearms look amazing, but their function is horrible.

I carry a Kimber Pro Carry every day during the cooler months, day in and day out. I do not hesitate to trust my life on that particular handgun. I have never has a single FTE or FTF and the thing shoots incredibly accurately and packs a mean punch to boot. Fun to shoot and slim IWB too.

I like RIA however I dont think they make a 4 inch barrel model and Im pretty sure their lightest model weighs in at a tad over 32 ounces.

I summer carry my 1911 too but only for dress-up occasions.

Otherwise in summer I carry a H&K P2000SK in 9mm. Just a tad thicker but considerably smaller and sweat resistant. Scary accurate too for a 3" barrell

Kimber is supposed to come out with their new Super Carry line shortly. Their Pro and Custom sizes have a bobbed tail. They all have the carry melt treatment and I just plain like the black slide on silver frame. Problem is that their initial pricing likely puts you into a higher price range than the rest of the Kimber line.

Kimber Super Carry Pro. RIA does make a 4 inch model. It is about the same weight as the Colt Combat Commander. Quite a bit heavier than an aluminum frame.
