Get the Pearce grip extension, might as well carry an XD service if you're going to put the big mag in the XDsc IMO.

    +1 on what BugDude said.

I love both of my XDs. I have the XD Service and XDsc both in .40, and trust it all to them. They are reliable. Period. Carried in M-TAC is very comfortable.

I always carry chambered. The XD40sc (and I'm assuming other XDs, but I haven't worked with them) has a striker block. Take it down and look under the slide and you will see it. It's rather prominent. It works in conjunction with the grip safety and trigger safety. Unless you are gripping the weapon in a manner to fire (disengaging the grip safety) and pulling the trigger, the striker is physically blocked from firing.

Always chmbered when carried. If not, bring a knife. No BG will wait for you to rack the slide.

I'm not risking a short-rack under the stress of a SHTF sceanrio. Stuff happens too quick.

No complaints, no problems, no concerns with my XD9sc. Carried daily with 1 in the tube and it goes bang every time. I have the bi-tone and paid about $500 for mine.

This is why I got the XD to carry. I feel better about it hearing you guys talk about having one in the tube along with the safetys the gun has. I also really like the idea of draw and shoot. No need to remember to flip a switch or push a button. If you are holding the gun, the safety is off. And yes there is no replacement for the safety between your ears.

I've had my XD40 SC for about six weeks, put a LaserMax in it. It is my EDC weapon, and I have not have any problems or concerns with it at all. I love this weapon.

XD9sc, excellent reliability, accuracy and great trigger. Only better that I have is the full size XDm. Can't go wrong with either. 100's of rounds thru each of mine, no issues whatsoever. And yes, they are minimally heavier/larger than Glocks. But man, they shoot sweet. I like the trigger on mine much more than the Glocks. Just my opinion. As has been said before, its all about what's right for you. SA's are right for me.

I've got an Xd9 and used to have an XD40 and never had an issue with either. My XD9 is my everyday carry gun! Between the two I've owned I've put probably about 3000 rds through them... mostly the 9... and the gun has never failed me.
