Those are attractive pistols. My cousin had one years ago and we shot it quite a bit. That was my first experience with the 9mm. It was a dependable pistol.

I had 2 of these back in the late 70's and early 80's. The 1st was same model 39-2 only nickle plated, and the 2nd one was a 439, blue with the winged, (protected) rear sight.

They are a large gun, (by today's standards) to only carry 8 rounds.

The 39-2 is the only gun I regret selling. Don't sell yours.

Great guns and I'd love to have one for my collection. Just a caveat - have you run a few mags of JHP through it? Early M39s, even the -2s, were known not to be completely in love with anything but hardball.

Great looking gun... My first autoloader was a 639... I wish I still had it...

Yes I have ran a bunch of HP ammo through it.It eats anything I feed it.So far it has never jammed or failed to extract.

Back in the very early 1980s these pistols (39 and 59) had a bad reputation. I don't know if it was merited or not, but the reputation was enough for me to not switch from Model 19 to a semi-auto until I got my Walther P-5 circa 1983.

I knew some guys who bought 459s real cheap circa 1983. They seemed to run without problems.

I did have occcasion to train with a Model 59 in Spain back in 2004. There were a couple of cycling issues. Then somebody gave me a Walther P-99 for the rest of the course so I dumped the 59.
