    ? for Kahr K9 owners

    Good evening all!
I have a chance to buy 1996 era Kahr K9 in great condition. It looks to have very few rounds threw it.
Is $500 a fair price? Was there ever any problems with the early K9's?
I've also noticed that the frame looks to be a bit different as well. There seems to be a "square notch" cut out in the back and i haven't seen that on a brand new one in the store. Was there any major upgrades to the pistol?
    Sorry for all the questions

    Thanks in advance!

I don't own a K9 but I bought a used MK9 that was produced back in 1997. It has been absolutely flawless and great to shoot.

$500 sounds high. I recently paid less than $600 for a 2009 K9 with nightsights and CT grips. $400 or less, sounds more reasonable to me.

I'm sure there were, but none that I can recall that were earth shattering.

The frame is machined differently today than then...more contoured today Versus a fuller, slab side look.
My '97 doesn't have a "square notch"...not sure what you mean unless you're refering to the access hole used to dismantle the slide.

The sight dovetail cuts are different today than then.

The early slides were carbon steel. New ones are stainless.
Early recoil springs were heavier and Kahr rated the K9 for +P and +P+ ammo. Spring rate today is still 20#, good for +P.
