I'm a salespersons dream
First let me say I've purchased many guns from this shop and they treat me right. So, today I went there intending to order a S&W, .357 mag., 8rnd., snubbie, wheel gun. I had down loaded a picture of the model I wanted because there are several that appear to have the same numbers. As soon as I should them the picture, they said, you don't want that gun. It's huge and its had issues with the scandium frame cracking. I respect their opinions as they have been in business a long time and the same people have been there forever.
After we talked a while, the sales person brought out 3 semi-auto pistols that he said he would trust his life to. I, of course, taking everything into consideration, decided on the prettiest. I purchased the Springfield Arms, EMP in 9mm. So what do you think?

Something similar happened to me. I went into my local shop and wanted to look at the small Kel-Tec and Ruger .380 pistols. They showed me a Kahr P380 too and after handling all I went with the Kahr for twice what the other 2 cost. I'm glad I did though. The Kel-Tec and Ruger pistols felt too "toyish" to me. They may be great pistols and I read good revies of both, but the Kahr felt like what I expect a pistol to feel like in my hand.
Now if only I could find some .380 ammo to go with it.
Glock G23
Kahr P380
OMC "The Backup" .380
I may die by my own gun, but whoever kills me with it will have to beat me to death with it, cause it will be empty by the time they get it.

more then you know what you want? who is he your motha?
IMO The EMP is a nice gun... but if you wanted the .357 you should have gone with it.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I'd love to have an EMP. What were the other two that he showed you?

Isn't the EMP a 1911 just in 9mm??
I still think you need a wheel gun in .357

Its a compact 9mm 1911 style but I don't think it's really a 1911 per say.

Yes, the EMP is in every way a 1911, only 9mm. It really reminds me of my all time favorite gun which I sold when I was a teenager as I needed the money to buy a car. It was a Colt 45, military 1911 that my brother sent home from Korea after he had it upgraded for match shooting. I love the 1911 and the .45 cal. round but I just can't deal with the size and weight for concealed carry. This EMP seems to meet all my needs for carry and the 9+1 capacity in a single stack is easier on my stubby fat hands.

By the way, the EMP came with a plastic snaplock holster and a 2 mag. belt holder, neither of which suit me. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced IWB holster?

The EMP is a great gun...absent one thing, its not rated for +p ammo. If you dont mind shooting lower pressure stuff, it will be just fine for you. Congrats on your new purchase...and post pictures.

Wanted a .357, got a 9mm?
That's like asking for bacon and being talked into getting turkey bacon.
Either way, the EMP is supposedly a great firearm, so you didn't do bad.
If I gave a crap about what you think about my guns.....it was early this morning and I already flushed it!
