Sweet. I might have to look into that for mine. How do you like your Slim? How many rounds do you have through it?

..very nice....
here is my 1st range report I posted over at Taurusarmed..
I will shoot some more this Friday....I just picked up (50) rounds of Hornady's 115 gr. Critical Defense....I'll run a mag thru her and see how she likes the CD.....just got done shooting (42) rounds = 6 total magazines.
ammo = 115 gr. JHP
brass = Winchester
powder = 6.0 gr. Unique
..as others have experienced......at 12 yards....about 10" low and 6" to the left....got her sighted in with no issues...
1st mag = 7 shots 100%
2nd mag = after 5th shot, slide locked open
3rd mag = after 5th shot, slide locked open
4th mag = 7 shots 100%
5th mag = after 2nd shot, FTE, remaining rounds 100%
6th mag = after 2nd shot, FTE, remaining rounds 100%
I need to do some searching here on taurusarmed.net to find out the possible causes of the FTE......I thought I read somewhere about some ejector issues??
Slide would not return all the way back....top round in mag would prevent that.
Empty was still partially chambered. To clear, I locked the slide back, drop the magazine....then the empty would fall out of the chamber.
Yes...I did thoroughly clean the slide, frame and chamber with de-greasing agent.
Okay....before I put the empty brass into my vibrating cleaner....I re-chambered all of the empties....lo and behold the (2) that had the FTE's...were in fact slightly BULGED...
I have (5) reloads on this brass...only thing I can surmise is that the 6.0 gr. charge of Unique may be on the edge.
I have a 1986 Dillon Square-D Progressive.
Looks great!

You may read on this site, and others, that these little guns don't like reloads. Some people use them with no problems. I had a couple problems out of 50 reloads, switched to factory for 50 rounds and had no more problems.
Try some factory stuff, not Winchester white. I've also read on these forums that people have problems with Winchester white box. I shot Blazer with no problems.
Not saying don't use reloads, just try factory and see if problem reoccurs.
Let us know.
They can be ammo sensitive (as most small sub compacts can be). I've only used factory stuff and had no issues at all.

My 709 will eat WWB just as fast as I can feed it. So far it's had a hardy appetite for any load it's been given. :)

...gonna shoot it today with some factory rounds..

Hornady Critical Defense
The 6.0 gr. of Unique is near the TOP for the 115 gr. JHP. I know that the (2) FTE's were a result of a slightly bulged case head. I may drop down to 5.8 grs. and try again.
I did polish the rearward portion of the chamber to see if that helps..
I love to shoot....when I go to the range.....I first scoop out HANDFULS of my reloaded ammo and fill ziplock bags!!
..I have factory ammo for carry....BUT I have reloaded for nearly 25 years now......I cast my own bullets....I just can't see paying that much $$$$ for factory rounds!!
As long as you're aware that you might have some issues with your range ammo as opposed to your carry ammo (and you put enough carry ammo through it to know it likes it fine) then you're ok.

Put a Hogue grip on mine the first day I took it to the range. I really feel the grip improves the handling characteristics of such a slim gun without adding much girth at all. I've shot Wolf, Fiocchi, Remington and WWB with out a hitch. A two handed grip didn't work too well for me and the slide bit me pretty goodso I'm practicing shooting single handed.
