Range report Taurus 709 Slim
See my previous report.
I went to the range today and ran another 100 rounds through by Taurus 709 Slim. 30 of those rounds were reloads. No problems. That's about 200 rounds so far.
The only problem I had was the magazine kept falling out. So I switched mags, and problem gone. I called Taurus as soon as I got home. Their sending me a new mag, all I had to give them was the serial number of my gun. When I get the new mag, I can return the bad one. Now where is that bad customer service I heard so much about.
Again at 21 feet I punched out the black of a slow fire target. I'm used to setting the sights below the target about 2 inches. This gun shoots right on point of aim.
I also figured out how to manage the trigger. I've been trying to shoot like a double action trigger, I tried shooting like a single action trigger and got it.
I have the CCW I have been looking for for nine months and 6 guns later.

Congrats.
Weird thing about the dropping mag. Glad Taurus is taking care of the issue.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Good report!! Glad the CS is great. Be sure to let people know that it's not what it used to be. Single stack mags are very sensitive to getting dropped, bent, lint, residue buildup, etc.
My 709 has exceeded my expectations in every way. Accuracy and reliability have been unbelievable.
The trigger is indeed a SA trigger. The long initial take-up with no resistance is not really part of the firing for me. Bring it back to the point of resistance and fire like any other SA handgun. Short, light, crisp trigger with a very short reset.
Glad you're liking it...it was exactly what I was looking for too.

Lets us know when the mag shows up, and hope you don't have to send the gun to them.

I really like the trigger on my 709 too. I'm glad the customer service was good too! Good to hear.

I just looked at the Taurus Slim today in Academy. I'm thinking heavily on getting it for concealed carry. I love their 24/7 models and have had zero problems with them.
