My karate master carries a .380 all the time; practices a lot and of course it's the hits that matter.
Another friend from the karate club carries a P-3AT in his pocket; dittos on the idea that putting your hand on the gun looks non-menacing and is a great tactical reason for a small handgun, pocket-carried. I'm thinking about getting one as a backup for my SW 3913, which I always have on my right hip.

I'm a pocket carry guy. I started carrying religiously daily about 2 years ago when I acquired my LCP. After about a year of learning (forums, Massad Ayoob, etc.) and practicing, I began to feel "uncomfortable" with the .380 round. I acquired a PM9 about a year ago with crimson trace and night sights and it is my 90%+ EDC with the LCP filling in when certain situations dictate.
As for the weight difference, yes, I would rather carry the lighter and thinner LCP but I have adapted to the PM9 just fine and I feel more confident should, God forbid, I'm forced to pull it in self defense...
