Field Strip Everytime??
Should you field strip your guns down everytime you shoot them?
Everytime I come home from the range I take the barrel out, the springs, clean the mag well, inside the slide and run a patch through the barrel a few times. How often do you need to take them all the way down and clean the sears, the firing pins etc... I shoot a lot of wolf ammo in my taurus and xd. in my 1911 all ive ran so far is good quality ammo.
Any input would be good .... Thanx.

If shooting corrosive ammo, of course. Sometimes I slack a little with my Mossberg pump or Glock, but generally I clean them afterward. Definitely clean my AR.

I can't say I do. I try. I really do but I do sometimes have a schedule that doesn't allow me to properly clean them every time. I eventually do but never go more then 2 range sessions without a good scrubbing.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Everytime I shoot, or every 30 days without shooting.

I generally shoot a minimum of 300 rds. through each gun I take, so, yes I clean every time.

I voted YES because then I can inspect the weapon for and wear, cracks, etc.

I field strip my SD guns every time I shoot, and if I do not shoot I field strip them every two weeks.

I voted yes.
I clean a gun after I shoot it every time. The biggest reason for me isn't necessarily to get the gun clean, but to inspect it for any sort of damage or excessive wear. It's much easier to see any possible cracks/damage if the gun is clean.

I clean after every usage. Of course, with the exception of the .380, I fire at least a few hundred rounds through them per trip. (Get my money's worth out of the range fee's.)
Pistols are quick and easy anyways. It's the rifles that take more time.

I voted, Yes. I field strip, clean and lube each weapon every time I shoot them. I do a full detailed brake down and clean after about 1500 to 2500 rounds.
Some of my guns go to the gunsmith for the detail cleanings. I don't have 100% confidents in my abilities to totally tear down and reassemble some of my firearms.

I field strip and thoroughly clean my guns any time they are fired. My EDC gets field striped, wiped down and re-lubed every two weeks if not fired.
About once a year I'll completely break each pistol down (this is more than a field strip), doing a thorough cleaning and inspection of every part.

Field Strip
Yes, every time I shoot. May not happen on the day, but within a day.
