    Shot a Glock 22 today

... and I kind of liked it.

One of the IDPA stages today at Titusville had the shooter run his or her gun empty, set it down, then pick up a Glock 22, clear a malfunction and engage the remaining targets with it.

Felt odd going from my HK to the Glock, but it got the job done (down 0 on the stationary and moving targets to finish the stage).

I can understand the appeal of the dark side a bit more today (but I'll stick with my H&K ).

Sadly it then gets infected and you'll wish you'd left them alone.

    Stick with the H&K.

As much as I love my Glock's I want an H&K badly. I almost purchased one instead of my Glock 27. Even though I had the cash I could not bring myself to spend close to 1K on the H&K though but hopefully in the next 3 years I will have an H&K. Is their a kool-aid for them?

BTW, I don't blame you for staying with H&K as they are great firearms.

And then when it's infected and you don't treat it, you'll get all grumpy and snippy.

As a professional doctor I can only recommend treating it with a couple thousands rounds out of a finely tuned German firearm.

As someone who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, I suggest changing the Nationality to Austrian and reduce the number of rounds needed by about 1950.

<chuckles> I switched from HK to GLOCK on a similar vein. Put them on a timer--you'll be brand new to GLOCK and long term with HK and the GLOCK will score better.. The only thing I was worried about was the mag change, and that took some effort.

Okay--so, for competition, GLOCK beats HK. I can prove it ona timer for me. No kidding, no BS, they're quicker on shot recovery. That's where your bread is buttered in IDPA/USPSA rather than the draw, etc.

I still love my HKs and shoot my GLOCKs.

It happened to me too. I bought the G22, which was my first glock. I took it to the range and had a grin from ear to ear from shooting it. The next day I went back to the gun store and got the G23. I am truly infected, as I have now purchased the G26 3 weeks later. I am afraid to open the credit card statement this month. I have been a bad boy.
When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid.

Yeah, but like their firearms, it's expensive. Vintage stuff!

I love my G22. I carry it every day. As American Express would say, "Don't leave home without it. "

I wonder if a Glock-36 is on that list?

Yes it will be in the family hopefully early next month. Thanks for adding to my affliction.
