This goes back a few years (well, OK, actually a couple of decades), but a friend started collecting S+W revolvers as a young man. He married in his early 30s, and his bride was quick with the eye-roll whenever my friend invested (she said "wasted") funds in another gun. A few years later when it was time to buy their first house, my friend sold off maybe a fourth of his collection, and there was the 20% down payment on the house they're still in today. That turned her around!

I love my husband. When I was eyeing the ruger mark III 22/45, but knew that sooner or later I was going to want a nice expensive 22 bullseye gun, he suggested that we get the ruger "for him". So that I was free to get the more expensive one for myself. When I was eyeing the XD(m) but couldnt decide as I kinda wanted to get a full size 1911 for my next gun. He offered to get the color he liked and call it "his", so that next time I was free to get whatever I wanted. You may laugh at me and think that my husband is tricking me into letting him have all the new guns, but he knows very well that all the semi autos are mine. :)

    Sounds like a great deal...

I find that an extra hour or two of doing extra chores for a few days helps to soften the blow. Just start cleaning.
