Took my Cobra to the range today

Well I took my 1952 Colt Cobra to range today and it shot really well, this thing is accurate. It also has a very smooth double action trigger and the single action pull is very light and crisp as well. I put 200 rounds of PMC 132gr FMJ ammo through her and two cylinders of the 125gr nyclad JHP's. The nyclads seemed to be a bit more tighter in their groups than the FMJ ammo was,but both were more than acceptable for this gun and its intended purposes. All shooting was done at 7 yards.

As a side note a funny thing happened, there was a young guy(my age early 30's) in the lane next to me with an XD subcompact. Anyways he looks over to see what I'm shooting. After we were back inside the gun shop portion of the place he says to me "So that gun of yours is a bit outdated huh?" he then chuckles. I replied "well she can still take care of business and shes a lot more classy then your to",now mind you this was good clean fun I don't think he was being rude of anything.

I just thought I'd share my experience at the range with my new colt and report here on my first day of carrying her concealed. Its pictured with the Andrews leather pocket holster it was carried in purchased a long while back for my '74 cobra. And let me know what you all think of my newest carry gun is she a classy gal or what?

Sweet! Brings back old memories of my dad's old Colt Cobra he carried back in the '70s and early '80s as a reserve deputy sheriff. His was factory nickle plated.

'Out dated'... but still commands the respect not matched by todays' crappy production standards.

The Piece demonstrates a lot of class and is oozing with character. I really dig the weathered vintage pocket holster, too.

    Congrats.

I am not a wheel gun person, but the more I look at your Cobra the more I like it. There is something special about vintage snubbies. Congrats!

Let's hope and pray that day never comes.

Enjoy it and carry it safely.

Sounds like an excellent performance. A fun report. Was wondering how you liked it. Did you feel the lightweight frame contributed to recoil? I've only shot Detective Specials and never fired a Cobra.

    "a funny thing happened,there was a young guy(my age early 30's)..."

Must be nice! Hah, I don't even recall my 30s but have the photos to prove I was once that young.
