New to the Forum Really like my .44 Special

I would like to introduce myself to the forum. I'm from Michigan and have had a ccw even before Michigan became an Issuing State. It was fairly simple to get I had a few Business in the city of Detroit and it didnít hurt to have a few friends in the Mayorís office. Anyway back then I used to carry a Charter Arms .44 Special Bull Dog 5 round revolver. I would like to know if anyone here has one that they carry and what they think about it. I mainly use it for my backup weapon. I really like it its one of my favorite handguns that I own.

Welcome to the group. No Bull Dog, but I do have it's kid brother, the Off Duty .38sp. Good little gun. Not really accurate, but passable, and very easy for a novice like me to carry.

Greetings, Watcher and Welcome from Texas.

If the Bulldog is your Bug, what the heck do you use as your primary CCW?

I've got one, and switched from a Clipdraw to a Simply Rugged with the 5-11 concealment shirts that are 2-4-1 at LA Police Gear right now. Love the gun, can't find any 44 SPL ammo!

    Welcome.

I have one I use sometimes as a house gun. Been a while since I carried it. It's the old Charter model and it was ammo sensitive. It shot Glaser and Mag-Safe fine, was excellent with Federal LSWCHP (200gr?) but it would keyhole with Gold Dot and sent CorBon into a pattern like a shotgun.

Hi Watcher, and welcome to the Forum!

The .44 Special is one of my very favorite handgun rounds. Very flexible, especially when handloaded. Potent too.

My Bulldog .44 and I both say welcome. Mine is usually in the console of my car when I go out. It is a 2009 purchase (new) and I do like the gun. I am considering its half brother, the .22lr model.
