That's just about a full set of each caliber!
Good job! I'm still working on my 9mm's!

Funny...this is one of those "a hundred people a hundred different answers" questions. Different toys for different boys (and gals!).

I think that has a lot to do with what you need/want a collection for. If it's SHTF than I think a Pistol (in like caliber) for each person in the family and a military style rifle (AR-15, AK-47, etc) would be fine. Add in a shotgun and a .22 rifle and I think you would be all set.

Pretty open ended, but speaking toward utility (dealing with what one can afford vs. what one has, does anyone have a complete collection?)...
self-defense - Pistols:
home/night defense - Glock 17
open carry & hiking trail - XD45ACP
CCW - Sig239/40
self-defense - Rifles:
Home/night defense & general SHTF - AR15 16" .223
Home/night defense - 12Ga Shotgun
Hunting - Deer - .308/30.06 (on my wish list)
Hunting - Elk - 30.06 or larger (on my wish list)
Hunting - Birds - Longer Shotgun than I have (on my wish list)
Good luck with controlling your firearm collection disease however severe it may hit you. Mine keeps getting out of hand %-)

Between the 2, definitely the M1A... (see avatar)

my basic list.......
.22lr rifle (semi-auto or bolt)
.22lr handgun (semi or revolver)
12 guage shotgun (pump w/ 2 barrels, 1 long, 1 short)
LEVER ACTION rifle (every American should own at least one in caliber of your choice)
bolt-action with scope (.308, .270, 30-06)
AR or AK variant (5.56mm, 7.62x39 or 7.62NATO)
large caliber revolver (any magnum caliber)
Glock, SIG or HK 9mm (or .40 as a lesser alternative, 9mm rounds easy to find)
1911 (.45acp)
optional-BUG or pocket pistol (your choice)
don't forget ammunition for all the above.
-that's what I would consider the 'Complete Essentials'
-as for the minimum 'basic list' everybody should have at least:
centerfire rifle
shotgun
centerfire handgun
at least one rimfire
keep in mind that firearms are an addiction of which there is no cure.

Yes, dimmak.
Much to my wife dismay when she saw me in her garden picking leaves, ferns, and the such. That was an experiment on 3D'ing camo paint jobs that came out better than I'd expected. Haven't been able to re-create it though!
Now I'm trying to come-up with a way to do the para-trooper's stock.
Maybe this will help.
