    Carry gun for big guy

My pops asked me about carry options the other night and thought I'd forward it to y'all for some input. He's a police officer and still carries revolvers. He was saying how he often doesn't carry anymore because he is either with a bunch of armed cops or dressed where his setup won't work. The fanny pack is his normal setup but is becoming a PITA and is obvious. He purchased an ankle holster but compained that the revolver (stainless K-frame) was too heavy and bulky for that type of carry (duh). He normally wears a polo tucked in, and either jeans or slacks. He's got a little belly going on so shirts are normally pretty snug, and he tends to wear tighter jeans (you know, where it is a pain to get your keys out of the pocket). He would rather stick to a revolver, but automatics aren't totally out of the picture.

    My thoughts:
-Buy lightweight J-frame for the ankle holster or pocket and get an extended grip.

-Get a slim auto and pocket carry (thinking p9 here)

Any input guys? He's a big guy, 6'3"ish with hands to match.

Additionally, wardrobe is adjustable and diet and exercise makes those clothes a little looser; so there's also ways to broaden his options.

Take him shopping and get him some loose fitting cargo pants and some larger size shirts. Then he can carry what ever he wants.

Probably the best option. Diet and exercise will do wonders for most people and make CCW a lot easier.

    re

forget the ankle holster - they are useless for primary carry

i with the rest Jframe .357 IWB - right holster and it will work

I think some new larger shirts and pants should be the ticket.I use a Galco OWB holster for my revolvers with just a T-Shirt on for cover.
