Exclamation Glock GEN4 frame damage pics!

    Barrel

The wear on the barrel is not very bad, but I've never seen wear in this location on a Glock before, especially at this low of a round count.

    Right Side of Frame

This is the worst location. The polymer has been worn away and the metal of the frame rail is clearly visible.

    Left Side of Frame

This side only has a small nick in the polymer.

I guess I'll be calling Glock tomorrow. I really like the new frame and mag release, so I hope they can get everything worked out.

this is not an isolated incident either.

Ok, so what's the deal...manufacturing flaw? Design flaw? All gen4's? or just those models? Or maybe a fowl batch?

Post up to send me to another forum?

post from the same thread, linked in the OP:

My G4 has fired 325 rounds. I have ware marks too. Both the right and left side have a small triangular, tear shaped metal piece visible. Further the left side also has a small ware mark under and behind the tear drop. From what I read I thought this new model might be a gamble and I hope that I am proven wrong, but this is a confidence buster nearing buyer's remorse. I hope that I am wrong.

I don't think this is a "wear mark". I have a new, still unfired, Gen 4 17 (haven't had a chance to get it to the range). The rail is visible through the polymer inside, especially prominent on the right side. I've read this is because of the amount of polymer that had to be removed due to the size of the dual spring. Not sure if it makes a difference or is like the "bump" marks on earlier G22s, that while ugly, didn't amount to anything.

I am glad that I did not wait for gen 4 when I purchased my gen 3 in September.

Regardless, I'm sure GLOCK will make this right.

i purchased my g19 RTF2 knowing the gen4 was coming soon as well, my friend.

however, my dealings with glock's cust serv leads me to be not so optimistic that they'll take care of gen4 issues properly for their customers....

I love my Gen3 Glocks. They could have easily changed the grip w/o messing with the frame/slide.
