Help me find a pocket .380

I am looking for a pocket .380 for my wife. I have a few requirements (please don't try to talk me out of them or tell my why it shouldn't be a requirement of mine):

    1. It must be at least 6 rnd capacity (.380 only).

    2. Must have a manual safety.

    3. Truely be pocket sized, I.E. P-3AT, LCP, TCP, etc.

    4. at or under $350

She loves the XD9SC but it is just too heavy for her to carry. She saw a guy put an LCP in his shirt pocket on one of the gun shows we watch and loved the idea of a pocket pistol. She absolutely INSISTS it have a manual safety though or she would already have the rasberry colored LCP.

Just tell her to pull the LCP trigger, and she'll see why there's no need for a manual safety.

Walther PPK/S. You might be able to get one used at that price. Maybe.

It's my pocket gun when only a pocket gun will do.

Yeah.. the 238 is the only one I can think of as well that meets all of the requirements.. but then you are carrying cocked and locked in order to have the safety activated. I think that is as risky as carrying a pistol without a safety. I know you stated not to change your requirements.. so the above qualifies. I will say that she could carry one of the pistols you listed without a round chambered. Not my preferred carry method, as you need two hands to chamber a round, etc.. Once she got more comfortable with a pocket auto that does not have a safety, she could carry one in the tube. I have a colt mustang that is very similar to the 238.. but I don't carry it any longer as I have replaced it with the LCP with a crimson trace.

This chart is pretty handy too if you have not seen it..

Not sure on what the price will be with a $575 msrp .. but the new S&W bodyguard .380 might be your pistol. Looks to have the manual safety. It also has a laser, which makes accurate shooting on pocket pistols with horrible sites fairly easy.

Wasn't trying to talk you out of anything, was merely saying a safety on a DAO trigger pull that is as long as the LCP is unnecessary. The Jiminez .380 meets all your requirements and has a msrp of $159. Maybe you should add reliable to your list of prerequisites as well.

    Too true!!

Like most of us I don't like any manual safety on my defensive handguns. I was an LEO for 10 years and never had a safety on my duty gun. My wif eis very open to carrying and if she leaves the house without me she has my XD9SC on her. I understand a long DA pull and the heavy weights of the DAO triggers but she didn't grow up around firearms and insists her personal gun will have a manual safety on it.

She also asked that it have pink grips but I told her I may have to carry it occasionally as well so hence the compromise (the rasberry colored LCP was just a joke).
