Gun Show and Money to Spend

I am heading to the gun show here locally on Sunday afternoon and I have $1000 in my pocket.

I am looking for a good pocket semi-auto in .380 or 9mm as it gets hot here in the summer and I don't want to carry a full size semi-auto all the time. Even with my Beltman belt and DM Bullard leather it just is not as comfortable in the summer.

    Any suggestions?

What would you be looking for in the same situation with money in your pocket?

With a grand in my pocket to spend, I'd get a Ruger LCP .380 or a kel-tec p9, and then spend the rest on an AK-47 (or a couple of SKS's) and ammo for all....

    9mm=Cz75B

.380=Bersa Thunder - not really pocket but worth it to make it work

hope your shows are better than ours - 1k will last about 30 seconds with the prices at our shows - nothing but retail on pistols

If I wanted a .380acp, and had $1000.00 to spend, it would be a Colt Pocket Light, Walther PPK/s, or Sig Sauer P232 vintage '90s with nice leather, and lots of ammo.

On the other hand, $1000.00 of "summer gear" can be a lot of fun.
I would get, the now very popular Keltec P3AT, a Smith J frame in .357Magnum ( have more than one choice depending on what model appeals to you.). If money left, ammo, and a good holster. Both of these handguns will go BANG everytime (in "my" experience), and the revolver is a powerful little beast.

The J frame would allow you to shoot "two" very capable cartridges out of the same gun.

    Hmm.

I'd say, for 9mm look at a Walther PPS...unless you think you could comfortably carry a Glock 26.

No suggestions on the .380's...they just ain't my cup of meat.

Hmm... I'd be walking out with either an LCP, PF9 or G26 with the balance in holsters and ammo!!!

A pal just bought a Kahr CW9 - certainly looks like a nice choice for a small, single-stack 9mm. And their PM9 is even smaller...

A Glock 26, a High Noon Public Secret holster and a couple of 5-11 short sleeve Covert Casual shirts. That should leave you about $250 to $300 change. Just my .02 and personal carry rig in southeast Florida.

+1 on the PPS, it's my EDC. They are super slim, rely accurate and just feel much tighter than the Taurus 709.

Springfield Armory XD40 SC, Pure Kustom Black Ops Pro holster, a few extra magazines, 100 rounds of self-defense ammo, 500 rounds of range ammo, targets, ear plugs, some range time!

Well, now that I think about it, that's exactly what I did.
