Down Size needed to 19 but Have to sell 17

Sheesh, I'll be needing to carry on the job soon and have a 17 that may be too large. I handled a 19 the other day and fell in love.

Trouble is I have had the 19 since 1993. It's like a piece-a-me. Pic in my signature.
The money is not there to keep and buy. But the profession may require it.

I'll be wearing loose sports shirts with a IWB holster. Does anyone carry a 17 like this and not print.

I packed a G22 for about 6 years. With the right holsters and cover garments, you can conceal it easily. Finding the right holsters for you is the trick though. Something similar to a Milt Sparks Watch-Six can make most pistols disappear.

The Milt Sparks stuff seems very nice.

I still have to figure out how I can get a 19 without selling the 17.

Save them pennies. Skip non essentials. What I do is I stop going to the bar and ordering beer when I eat out (saves $3 a drink easily) and drink a Coke or something instead. I also don't go to the more expensive restaurants. Cook at home more. I don't buy beer and soda at the grocery store for a few weeks. Instead I drink Iced Tea.

Every time you can save a few bucks put that money into your savings or a lock box with your firearm funds. You'd be surprised how much money you can save in a month if you take the extra couple dollars you have in your pocket and put it in the pile along with everything you save from cutting out things you don't need

I'm doing just that while I save for my next purchase. Every time I have a few extra dollars I put it in a lock box. I take the money I save by cutting out certain things and put it in my savings. Combined I can save about $200 a week easy.

I carried a G23 at 4:30 for quite awhile, lost some weight and now carry at 3:00. Tried a G17 at 3:00 and could hide it easily. Holster is a Comp-Tac Spartan.

I carry a Glock 23 in a High Noon Public Secret holster in appendix posistion covered by a 5-11 Covert Casual shirt. I am 5'11" and 175 pounds and it covers just fine. I have carried my Glock 21 in the same manner and get some slight print from the longer grip. Using a gun belt makes a difference because it is more ridged then a dress belt and keeps the holster tighter to your torso.

Are you saying that you have to sell your 17 to get a 19? If so, why don't you just cut the grip down to the 19 size. That way you will have a smaller grip with the longer barrel.
