If it's got steel sights and a useful rail it wouldn't be a bad upgrade. We sell a lot of these and if they can keep the price low they'll sell even better. Money talks lately.

It comes with a front tritium sight so that's a plus. I can't imagine they'll keep the Sigma any longer though. I can't see them have 3 grades of polymer guns.

Wow that actually looks decent. Might be a great value gun.

If they've changed it enough, they won't have to follow the terms of the Glock settlement. Why would that be important? NO MORE HEAVY TRIGGERS! Now that would be a change I could believe in.

I just got off of the phone with S&W (service dept) discussing some repairs to my 686+. I asked about the SD series and he told me that they received an email about a meeting tomorrow to learn more about the guns. I asked if they were going to replace the Sigma line and he thought (key here being that he was not sure) that the SD guns will be in addition to the Sigma and M&P.
    Time will tell.

Damn, I was hoping that S&W would do a sub compact sigma 3 inch barrel and a shortened grip.

Looks like it's gonna be $48 more than the Sigma (retail).

I would bet this will be the Sigma replacement. Hopefully its a good, inexpensive gun like the Sigma, but with a M&P trigger pull and better front sight mounting design.
Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it ......
