    XDm .45 ACP

This is the first I've seen on the much rumored XDm .45

This is an ad from American Rifleman. I did a google search, but couldn't turn up any more info. I couldn't even find a better picture.

This was from my phone, hence the poor quality

If this XDm .45 is anything like my XD .45, it will be an impressive shooter.

To me the XDm is what the Gen. 4 Glock COULD have been. I'm not a huge fan of the original XDs, but the XDm is just as nice a shooter to me as my M&Ps are, and IMHO looks better than all the other polymer guns, too.

    Ah! A better photo:

A tidbit of info from the brochure:

    (M)EGA CAPACITY MEGAZINE™ – The new XD(M)™ 45ACP magazine holds an
incredible 13 rounds and is completely interchangeable with the original XD® 45ACP
magazines. The major difference is the much smaller size of the XD(M)™ 45ACP’s
frame. The XD(M)™ is the largest capacity production polymer pistol in both the .40
    caliber and 9mm, accommodating 16 + 1 and 19 + 1 rounds, respectively.
I like that the mags are interchangeable.

    Caliber: 45ACP
    Magazines: 2 - 13+1 Round, Stainless Steel
Barrel: 4.5” Steel, Melonite®, Fully Supported Ramp
Sights: Dovetail Front & Rear (Steel) 3-Dot
    Trigger Pull: 5.5 - 7.7 lbs.
    Frame: Black Polymer
    Slide: Forged Steel
    Overall Length: 7.7”
    Height: 5.75”
    Weight: 31oz (With Empty Mag)
Not too light, but lighter than my 1911

So to Springfield Armory's website and put in your email address. They will inform you when one will be available to order. I cannot wait, I dont care how much, I will be one of the first people to have one, wife permitting of course.

This is what everyone has been asking about. And like I said in threads from long ago, give Springfield time and they will have just as many models and calibers as Glock, only be much better.

so if not increased capacity then what about the 4.5 should attract people into buying this if they already have an XD .45 tactical?
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

    13 round mags aren't bad. My M&P 45 only holds 10 +1.

I wonder whether holsters will be interchangable too? If so, that'll help sales, since the holster market won't have to "catch up".

Supposedly thinner than the standard XD-45.

If you already have an XD-45, trading/buying an XDm-45 probably isn't worth it. But if someone does not yet have one, the new one might be worth looking into.

I don't own any plastic .45s, but this XDm is going to be awfully hard to resist.
