I have a few Dan Wessons and one of them is (was) a 2007 CBOB. In talking to a friend of mine who happens to also be a gunsmith extraordinaire, I started throwing ideas out there to see what was possible. He just kept saying "Yes, I can do that" time after time, and long story short, I ended up sending him the CBOB and letting him implement the changes that my twisted little mind had come up with. It's still not done - there are a couple more major things to do - but the pistol is now designated as the Beastbob, and has been changed both inside and out. I can't wait to get it in my hands and feel the new action as tuned by a true professional.
The gunsmiths name is Dave Severns of Severns Custom. His website is - https://severnscustom.com/Home_Page.html . The new blacker than night finish is his proprietary "Hard Hat" metal treatment and is not a coating, but an actual metal treatment.
Anyway, on with the pics! Let me know what you think so far!
That's a beautiful pistol. Thanks for posting the pics.
Thank you gentlemen, I'm glad you like it! Dave really turned it into a work of art didn't he? The final steps are to jewel the thumb safeties to match and then polish the sides of the slide behind the carry cuts to a blazing stainless steel. Everything internal was replaced and hand fit by Dave. I can't wait to get this thing in my hands in a week or two!
Very nice. I imagaine that you will be very pleased with them.
Good luck, Later, Lumpy.
very nice. it almost looks too good to shoot, almost.

There are always too many Democratic, Republican and never enough U.S. congressmen.
I'd have gone with different grips. Looks real good.
How 'bout a torture test of the "Hard Hat?"
...or is this thing a safe queen, with the indestructable treatment

Wow that thing look slike a mean Machine. I love the look of the finish. Very nice gun. Wish I had a friend who did that kind of stuff. LOL
Friends don't let friends be MALL NINJAS.
I am just as nice as anyone lets me be and can be just as mean as anyone makes me. - Quoted from Terryger, New member to our forum.
Very nice Sarge! Love the crowned barrel, cut back dust cover and oversized bushing. What's left to do?

What's left to do? A little more jewelling on the thumb safeties to match the slide release, then it's polishing the slide flats from the carry cuts to the rear of the slide. These areas are going to be polished stainless. This will leave the front of the slide black, the portions between the serrations black and the word BEASTBOB black. I think it's going to look great.
As to the grips - this was a set of mine that Dave already had, so he put them on for pics. The actual Beastbob grips are going to be a very special piece of Amboyna Burl that has not only the red of the Amboyna, but also some very cool and natural smoke grey rings around the burl eyes. I've been saving it just for this. It's the only piece of Amboyna I've ever seen this way and it's perfect for this project.
Yes, very nice indeed..
