    Springfield Armory XD9SC Dimensions

I am comparing the dimensions of a few compact 9mm pistols, and I cannot find the width of the XD9SC anywhere. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks a bunch!

it is my EDC. It is 1.25" wide.

This site has a lot of data...but not all.

    Genitron.com: Search Handguns

I actually think that the XD9sc is 1.225" wide...

If you want a truly small and powerful 9mm, look at the Rohrbaugh. It is pricey but is supposed to be very very nice.

    OOOHHHHH!!!!

I also carry a Kahr MK9 '03 Elite which is smaller than the XD and is .91" wide but is almost as heavy loaded due to it being SS. The Kahr PM9 is very light and shoots well.

I am not a big fan of the KelTec line just in case you were looking there.

    Just my $.02.

There's always a compromise. I carry the XD9SC. The size, high capacity for it's size, and shootability make it a winner in my book. That cougar you've got there is a nice rig, but thicker and harder to conceal. I like them a lot, however, and my own one some day.

    @ntg:

Yeah - I've decided that I am going to pick up an XD9SC. I've heard nothing but good things about it, and the characteristics of the pistol itself are all spot on IMHO.

As for the Cougar - it's a GREAT gun. It's somewhat difficult to conceal, and a full day of CC with it makes for a slightly sore back (but that's just me). Everything else about it I absolutely love - capacity, feel, accuracy, maintenence, etc... Below are some size comparisons between the Cougar and the XD9SC.

    XD9SC:
    Length - 6.26
    Width - 1.22
    Height - 4.75
    Weight - 20.5 oz
    Capacity - 10+1

    Cougar:
    Length - 7.10
    Width - 1.50
    Height - 5.50
    Weight - 32.6 oz
    Capacity - 15+1

Good choice. I have one and love it. Of all the handguns my girlfriend has shot and held, she keeps going back to it. I'm close to 2k rounds and not a single issue/hiccup/jam.

I love my xd9sc! I thought about a smaller keltec but couldn't get as good of a grip as I can with the xd.

    Good luck!

That used to be my EDC, but I replaced it with an M&P 9c and never looked back. Take a look at one if you can.... Both are great, but the M&P is better in my book.

Are there different mags for the xd9sc? I have the 10 round flush and the 15 round extended mag. Are the 13 round mags flush or extended?

The XD9sc has a 13 round mag and a 16 round ex- mag. The XD45 Compact (which I carry) has a 10 round mag and 13 round ex-mag.

EDIT: They also apparently make a 10 round mag. I'm confused at the moment. Scottsdale Gun Club has it listed at 10+1 and 16+1 capacity while Springfield lists it at 13+1 and 16+1 capacity. I wonder if they updated it? I'm planning on getting one in the near future, so some clarification from someone who knows much more than I do would be great!

I was thinking along those lines, but it seems odd that SGC in Arizona would list the gun as coming with 10 and 16 round mags. That's why I was confused.

    Thanks though.
