    S&W M&P 9mm Compact Range Report

    Well I have been debating getting a 9mm for quite some time due to the rather large difference in price between 9mm and .45, and so today I went out and fired the M&P 9c to see if I liked it.

    I absolutely loved it! I wish I would have shot this gun before I bought my XD because it would have definitely been a good competitor. I will say that I have never fired more accurately with any other gun, and that includes all the various 9mm and .45 XD's, the 9mm Glocks, and the SIG P229 and P226. And the kicker was I had just finished a two hour workout right before I went and shot.

    I forgot to take a picture of the target , but I put 35 of 50 rounds in the upper third of the 10, and 13 rounds in the 9. The first two rounds went high right over the shoulder as I was getting used to the trigger. 26 shots were fired at 7 yards, and the other 24 shots were fired at 10 yards. I have never shot better than that.

    Anyways, basically just wanted to say that I love this gun, and I'm going to buy it as soon as I sell my XD.

    I sold my XDsc for one after I had bought the full size 45. I felt bad because my XD was ultra reliable and accurate, but It just did not have the same the feel my M&P did. I just really like M&P's now...

    Accuracy ALWAYS WINS! So carry what you can hit with.

    My M&P c 45 is the best shooting [for me] gun, I've ever owned, and that includes 5 SIG's, 2 High Powers, and several other "highly rated" pistols, over the last 40 years. I ordered an XD 45 compact Friday, and it's due to arrive tomorrow. I sure it will be a good weapon, but it will have to be a supergun to match the M&P.

    There's a reason that the M+P is successful making inroads into the domestic police market, at the expense mainly of Glock, but also displacing some XD sales (although XDs are relatively scarce among PDs). Your posts are just more evidence.

    I posted this before, but this was after 3 months with the M&P9c.

    50 rounds, 20 center mass, 10 double taps, center mass and 10 heads shot in under 10 seconds.

    7 yards

    I REALLY like my M&P9c

    +1

    @OP,I liked the M&P9c I owned too, but I'm just a Glock-a- holic
    and love my G26 too much to change to the M&P .

    Glock On--or in your case M&P On

    So I really don't want to start any comparison wars, so I will keep this about the M&P:

    I like the ergos, the trigger is OK, but I have observed more failures with the M&P in competitions than I would expect by reputation. Now this may be the environment, and it may be just that it is more sensitive to non-standard handloads, but it nags at me, and so I have stayed away.

    Totally non-scientific observations, and may be groundless.
