Who is Diamondback? Were they using factory ammunition or personal handloads? Was the same ammunition used in both guns? Was this ammunition tested in other guns?

I would do a little more looking around before I went on a public forum and posted stuff like this. Posts like this inspire a mob mentality which is unfair to all involved.

People flame Taurus all the time far worse than this for just a mag that won't drop free or an occasional FTE (or it taking a couple weeks longer than they thought for a repair). If the poster has 1st hand experience of slides (more than one) breaking in half, then I appreciate the heads up.

We have on in the shop as a range rental and its good to go so far with a pretty high round count. I'll check on it this afternoon and inspect it. Crap, I hope these things don't turn into SCCYs. We've been selling them pretty well.

I had one of these and really liked it WHEN it worked. I had to go back to the factory twice for a broken trigger bar. When I received it back the second time I never even took it out of the case until I got to my favorite gun store where I traded it in (with cash) for another 1911.

The gun store I visit had these stacked to the ceiling. Well, about 20 of them. Can you say, "Uh-oh!" Sounds like a heat treating issue.

I don't think the gun is meant to have thousands of rounds shot through it. JMO PS For that price I would exspect to have a little more QUALITY!! ; )

They really aren't that cheap..... $300-$350! The Ruger LCP is about the same price and in some cases cheaper...

I was also considering one of these instead of my P3AT. I guess I will be waiting longer to see if it is an epidemic problem.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Me too. I shot one a couple of weeks ago and really liked it when compared to my P3AT. The Diamondback was superior in almost every way. My P3AT hasn't come apart at the seams though.

huh. i actually saw one of those for the first time @ a gun store this weekend.
looks pretty much like a kel tech - ruger hybred.

its one thing for some internal part to snap, or to have general feeding problems... its something else for the slide to break in half o.O

guess i wont be getting one of those. thanks!
would like some more info though of course and followup when/if u ever get ahold of them.
