Hey everyone, I just purchased a brand new Ruger LCP engraved model this past week and finally got it out to the range today and after just 5 magazines ran through it (30 rds) I am experiencing this wear of finish as shown in the picture, is this normal in LCPs? I am a little concerned that the wear is being caused by some undue friction or perhaps improperly fitting parts, again I am not an expert, still just beginning my journey into firearms and ccw.

That exact barrel finish wear is normal for almost all semi-automatics.

On a side note I love my new LCP and am super glad I purchased it over the kel-tec p3at I had been comparing it with.

Nothing to be concerned about. All locked breech semiautos show this type of barrel finish wear after firing.

I got the edition that has really nice scroll filigree engraved on the sides of the slide, it was like an extra $30 at the gun store I frequent and I figured why not spend the couple extra dollars to have a slightly more unique lcp.

I picked up the same model recently, I like it quite a bit. And mine does have the same barrel finish wear, nothing to worry about.
You can easily avoid all that 'normal' wear, don't use it.
What you have is just fine, and shows that somebody doesn't just let that gun sit in a safe, or in a glove box.
