    Llama M1 .380

Just wanted to share this mini 1911 with the forum. It is a Llama 'Especial' M1 .380 and was purchased by my father in the late-60's; he carried it for a number of years as his BUG and undercover weapon while he was a police officer. He still owns the pistol and it is in great shape except that its hammer is failing to cock back after each round is fired, though it hasn't had its internals touched since he got it but has been well loved for many years. (we suspect a sear issue and are going to the gunsmith with it soon)

Enough with my yapping, pics are attached! I used my SA Mil-Spec as a comparison

After some quick research on Spanish firearm markings, it appears that the M*1 marking on the frame is a proof and means that the pistol was produced in 1967. I'm not sure of the exact model, but it appears to be a Series 1 Llama IIIA model.

my dad has a llama in .32 i dont know when he got it but it was a long time ago. neat little gun. i would like to have it as a bug as its so small and can be concealed so easily. he used to carry it when he worked at an auto parts store in a rough area of cleveland.

I bought a .380 Llama when living in IL years ago. After several years, it developed a habit of releasing the magazine while shooting. Although I'm sure that would be an easy fix, I decided to trade it for a Bersa after returning to RI.

thank you for sharing, that is a nice weapon. That reminded me of a silly mistake I made many years ago when I got rid of an Iver Johnson pony in .380; oh to find one today Id buy it as quickly as possible.

I worked at a sporting goods store many years ago ( 1968-1969) and sold
a good number of those. They were well made and had a good feel when
handeling them. In about 1985 I bought one in .22 cal. and the quality was
not as good as the older ones. It had plastic grips and the finish was not as good. Shot it for a while, and after a few years got rid of it. If I could get one of
the older ones in .22 I might pick it up.

I have one just like it. It is one of the best shooters I have ever owned. This one is actually my second. Don't know why I sold the first one.
