I believe what he was told, I just suspect he go some one at Springfield that did not know and did not want to take a chance. "NO" is always a proper answer to some people.

What I don't understand is if he is truly a knowledgeable gun guy he should know that most all modern handguns, since the late 1980's or early 1990's are rated for +P ammo. XD's have a fully supported chambers, all steel internal construction and are built like a tank. If any polymer handgun out there was capable of handling +P ammo it would be an XD.

Are you sure he is not just a Glock guy and he doesn't want you to buy an XD?
I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry.

You can use +p+ with any XD 9!! Ask SA customer service if you have any doubts.

We talked about what "a lot" meant. Their comment was , they wouldn't expect any extra wear with less than 2000 - 3000 rounds.

I have NO CLUE on .45 cal + P, but you could / should ask Springfield.

Sorry, but I'm not one to 'trust' some comment by someone I don't know (range officer or not) .... unless I hear it from the horses mouth myself.
Obviously continuous +p+ will increase wear more rapidly in ANY gun.

That range officer deserves a . He obviously isn't familiar with the XD platform. I personally feel the XD line is sturdier than even Glocks.
