I recently acquired a Barska GLX green laser and was wondering about using it on my XD 40 Service model. The laser mounts nicely on the rail under the barrel but protrudes well beyond the barrel. Is this a problem? That is will the muzzle blast or any material ejected from the barrel harm the laser? Thanks. Any advice in general from Barska owners would be welcome also.

Barska didn't have instructions on this? Never owned one but with the lawyers these days you would think they would exactly spell out in the manual correct mounting positions.

I don't know about the laser, but my Streamlight TLR3 sticks out past the muzzle of my XD9sc at least an inch. It's never hurt the light to shoot that way, but it does get rather dirty after extended shooting sessions.
