While the practicality of this argument will probably be in question, as will the validity of any statements made...I'd probably have to go with a shotgun.

Ditto on the shotgun...but if not using a shotgun, it would have to be a 6.8x43mm SPC from an AR15.

Apparently, not everyone is reading the OP's thread description carefully. I would choose a S&W Model 66-2 customized revolver which is an actual conceal carry option.

The one I'm most comfortable with, my Ruger GP100 357.

Oh, didn't notice the handgun stipulation. In that case, I would choose
    .45 ACP +P 165gr CORBON JHP

I'd take a steady/heavy/metal longish barrel .357 sig that I could get right to the medula oblongata with. Boom, down.

    A 6 inch S&W model 28, 357 Magnum with 158 Gr SWHPL.

It is the gun that I use when shooting for bragging rights.

Its a little large for CCW

From handguns I have carried (in a CCW form--I won't count my .500 that I've carried hunting).

    A 225gr .44mag Corbon DPX from my 4" 629 Mountain Gun

    -or-

    A 230gr+P .45acp Ranger-T from my G21

    -or-

    A 147gr 9mm HST from my P7M8, G17, or G34
