^^^^ LOL.....I'm replying to the Thread because it's been out there soooooo long. LOL.......After about 3 YEARS, that MDE was finally sold, and it was sold BELOW COST just to get rid of it... Fast forward 7 years and if Springer XD is still on the hunt, I'd suggest looking into one of those REMINGTON RM380 pistols. Similar lines to the NAA380 and Rohbar 9mm guns. We at KTP have about a dozen Factory Dealer Samples of the RM380 for 250.00 each.

Well I do not have an Micro desert Eagle (I just ordered an Beretta Pico 380 acp but have not received it yet) but most Reviews praise the gun as an Quality gun. Seems to be hard to find even on the Internet.
It will be an Quality product and should get the Job done.
Pros: very compact (more than others) and in the same weight ballpark but a Little bit more heavier. Metall gun.
Cons IMO: only 2.22" Barrel instead the 2.75" Standard Barrel (velocity and thus power loss?). Seems to be "only" nickel plated instead real stainless steel.

Slide lock back is not neccesary. I would rather have an +P rated gun (as the Pico is rated for +P) but that would concern me only if I reload and cast my own ammo and bullets (which I do). I anyways with 380 acp would ONLY go for ball ammo (FMJ or lead) not for any fancy hollow Points since 380 acp is a notorious underpenetrator. I believe an 95 grain FMJ going 945 fps will have 188 ft-lbs of energy (Standard pressure) and that is good enough since it will penetrate about 20+ inches in ballistic gel (outperform the 9mm Luger).

But if you like it, go for it.

See this http://www.guns.com/review/gun-revie...eagle-380-acp/ regards the shorter Barrel vs velocity.

Why not contributing to an old thread?

It's Information and first Hand experiences (hopefully).
Now and then a Person is just looking for that info, and here it is. Till now over 18000 People have looked for this info or seeked advice for the Micro Desert Eagle 380 acp. This thread has helped lets say 18000 People (size of a small City). I would say it's worth the efford to help so many People.

I allways see the gun Forums as an knowledge base.

This is probably the one forum where members don't actually mind bringing life back into a long gone thread. Everywhere else I've been they get all bent out of shape. I do admit though that this one probably wasn't worth bringing back from the grave. They either got talked out of it or they folded and, hell, after 7 years that gun may have changed hands 10 times by now.

can you even find the Micro Desert Eagle on the market?

As I read it anyways was a gun of another Company than Magnum Research. As I recall it a czech Company has invented the gun and sold it quiet a bit and the Company was aquired later by Magnum Research who modyfied a bit the gun and sold it as the Micro Desert Eagle.

On Gallery of Guns the Micro Desert Eagle at least not even exists.

Here is a trade in http://foxfirearms.com/handguns/1649...380-trade.html.
It's a used MDE and I am surprised it is advertised to have an polymer Frame. I wonder if that is true. I thought they were all steel or nickel plated all steel pistols.

No in the case the gun has a polymer Frame I would not buy it. And a used one is still about 400$? That is way to expensive. I wonder how much would have cost a new one.
I may as well go for the Beretta Pico 380 acp (what I did). Seems the Micro Desert Eagles (as all Magnum Research guns) are way overpriced.

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with resurrecting an old thread. Of course offering the OP advice on their purchase three years later isn't exactly going to help them.

As far as the Micro Desert Eagle goes, I actually like them. My brother had one and I liked shooting it. I want one, but then again there are lots of guns I want. There are better small guns to carry, but I still like the gun.

....these little .380's Naa Guardian, Micro are snappy buggers and the steel frames don't tame'em much....plus they're heavy in the pocket.....get suspenders with the holster.

Not to try and change minds, but with the current rebate letting some guys bring the S&W Bodyguard 380 home for under $200, I would be hard pressed to recommend anything else - at least until the end of June.
