    Spoke with Beretta Rep today...

Beretta had their rolling showroom parked outside my LGS today so I stopped in to look at some shotguns. I was talking to the rep about how much I liked the Beretta pistols I own, but since they don't offer a "slim" 9mm I carry a Walther PPS instead. He then tells me that they are in the final design stages of a "micro" 9mm (and .40) that will be slim like a PPS but use the Beretta rotating lug design barrel to achieve a lower bore axis. This sounds very intriguing to me as I am as big a fan of Beretta as I am of Walther. I will have to keeps my eyes open for this pistol.

Look forward to seeing it first hand. If it's reliable, it'll sell a ton.

"Micro" to me means the size of a PM9 or LCP. Still, will be interesting to see.

He did reference the LCP and the Kel-Tec when he spoke of it. I am curious to see how small they can practically and safely make a polymer single stack 9mm & .40 caliber.

Same here. I was all excited when Ruger announced a new compact 9mm... which turned out to be the SR9c. Let's hope Beretta actually comes out with a true subcompact 9mm. It's nice to have more choices on the market. That being said, I'm going to stick by the "wait one year after a new model comes out" rule.

If the gun was to be hammer fired, DA/SA like the Storm, but still thin like the PPS, that would certainly pique my interest!

I've heard this floating around lately, and supposed production next year. Some speculate or have heard working out the barrel issues have been holding them up some.

I'm quite happy with the PX4-SC.... so it could get a companion brother if they come out with it.
