Yes, it can. It's fairly simple to do, but if not done correctly the mag catch is very difficult to remove again.

Youtube it, you'd be surprised what you can find on there as far as instructional videos.

It can, and if you attemp it, do it on a table and cover the assembly as you're removing it. Do it slowly, trying not to lose the spring and small keeper that are in there.

Actually I don't think it is reversible. That was one of my downsides to this gun. Google a gun review on it and see maybe I am remembering this wrong.

Cammo girl - I think you may be confusing it with another handgun.
To the OP - Maybe a little more info. and a suggestion. (I own a P-239 and I'm a factory certified Sig Sauer armorer).
If you're the least bit mechanically inclined, I suggest you buy the Sig Armorer's video. They are available from Brownells or Top Gun Supply. You can find the video here
The Sig Armorer's tool (basically a screwdriver) is also nice as it has several "tips"; one for depressing the magazine catch stop, a hollow ground screw driver that fits the grip panel screws properly, one for removing the extractor, one for the mainspring etc.
The video is around $22.00 and the Sig tool is a few dollars more (last I checked, also available from either source above). It's a very worthwhile investment for anyone who owns a Sig P-series pistol.
Hope that helps.

You're welcome. I'm sure you'll enjoy it - and be able to do all of the standard maintenance such as spring changes, function checks, etc.
Post up after you've watched it and let me know if you think it was worth it.

The biggest gotcha is when you are reinserting the catch. If you don't properly orient the mag catch stop when inserting it the catch will no longer function. I was told when I took the Sig armorer course that it isn't likely they can fix the catch. At that point it's stuck in the frame (which is the only serialized part), so you basically have to buy a new gun.

Good news on that, obviously I need to read up more on those details. This will be my next gun and it is nice to know that it is possible.
P.S. we are talking about the SIG p239 - - - right??
