    G19 Grip Chop

I just wanted to share with everyone my weekend project. This weekend after much thought I took the plunge and chopped my grip on my g19. I have read of a few others on this forum who had done it and seemed to like it and I too have found that this is a perfect modification for a concealed carry g19. My next step will be a grip reduction but I wanted to share pictures with everyone. This mod is not for the faint of heart as you are cutting the frame of your gun but it has made a big difference in my carry ability.

I'm not sure I would have attempted this on my own. I would have left it to the professionals

Nice job! I think glock should offer that as a factory option.

I really am having trouble understanding the point in this. Why not just trade for a g 26 if you want a shorter grip?

After further review of your pictures I noticed that you chopped the grip but then proceeded to add a +1 grip to the G26 magazine essentially restoring it back to the regular G19 grip length

The G-26 doesn't maintain the slightly longer sight radius and front rail of the 19. Don't get me wrong, I carry (And love) my G-26 but the only reason I bought it over the 19 was for the ability to be able to shorten the grip.

He did. He could also use a g 19 mag. Or a glock 26 mag with a standard floor plate. Or a 26 mag with a gap floor plate. It's all about options and that mod gives him more.

I don't see the point of ruining a perfectly good gun. Unlike many professional maods, this can't be undone.

Excuse me, I think I'll cut one of the barrels off my double coach gun.

I suppose as long as you stay away from my GLOCK 19, you can do what you want. I personally would've just found a GLOCK 26 and more practice.

Congrats. You did a great job. Looks factory made.

Glock should manufacture this and name it the G19-SG [short grip].

Side Note: This reminds me of the vintage Detonics model that was built on an officer's model frame but had a gov. length slide for longer sight radius.

Cutting one of the barrels of your double coach gun really wouldn't serve a purpose. This does.

Yes it does. Look how much narrower my double is now. Easier to conceal!

If concealing your double barrel coach gun is something that's important to you then i guess it would be a mod worth looking into
