    Reporting for duty

I finally received the grips I ordered from Marschal's and my DuraCoated CZ-82 is officially ready for duty.

I would have liked the thumbrest and finger groove version of grips but felt they weren't as compatable for CC duty. These are ash, grey-stained. The reloaded rounds are made from trimmed 9mm Luger cases, so I stained them black to make them stand out from other cases on the ground.

I'm satisfied with the DuraCoat but not overwhelmed. I had to completely redo the slide after the first application peeled off, and I'll have to redo the extractor. The coating peeled on the front tip. I'll probably repaint the grip screws to matte black. The Stainless Steel finish stands out a bit too much to me.

All in all, seeing as this was my first experience airbrushing, I think it came out okay. Disassembling/reassembling can be challenging! The thing shoots so well I can live with a few cosmetic inperfections. After all, it only cost @$250 delivered. I won't mention (to the wife) the reloading dies, DuraCoat, airbrush, primers, powder, bullets, case trimmer, et cetera. Come to think of it, I may have spent less on a Kimber!
