As for revolvers going the way of the dinosaurs, aren't "J" frames and their clones still hot sellers?

I carried it often when out in the woods and taken many rabbits, squirrels and even partridge. Sorry I sold it a few years back. Can't advise on what you should carry other than use what your comfortable with. BTW, welcome to the forum and enjoy.
Hopefully you guys in WI will be able to carry soon.

From time to time I replace my 1911 with a 3" SP-101. I am in the process of making it more carry friendly by dehorning it. I saw an example I liked over at the Gemini Customs site here is my effort to copy theirs:

Here are some pics of the dehorning in process. I plan to clean up all the file marks and then have it beadblasted to get the matte finish. I also installed a Pachmeyer grip on it.
I wanted to keep the hammer on this gun so instead of removing it I rounded the end and chamfered the edges of the checkering:

Left side with the frame, cylinder and trigger guard edges radiused:

Right Side done the same way as well as the trigger face:

Barrel and muzzle also were dehorned:

I still have some polishing to even everything out but the hard work is done. It's like running my hand over a well worn bar of soap. All work here was done with a small triangular, round and flat file and lots of 600grit sandpaper. I am now changing to 800grit to finish it out. It will look like it has been chromed before I send it in to have it bead blasted to a matte, non-reflective finish.
The only thing needed for evil to exist is for good men to stand by and do nothing!!!

I wish I still had my S&W 66 4"! I'm-a-gonna have to get me another one! I miss having the .357's power at my side.
