There is one at my shop back home for 525. Weird thing is he has had it for at least a year. I was actually thinking about stopping by there and getting it for my dad for father's day since he loves my M&P so much.

My .40 was just over $600 last year, they've since gone down some. $550-580 sounds about right.

Good choice in a carry piece by the way. I love my M&P .40c.

I got mine for $489. Most other dealers were $550 to $600. The dealer I got mine from sells tons of M&P's so he gives a good price.

This is the breakdown for Davidson's/Gun Genie to send it to the FFL I usually use:

    MSRP: $719.00
Sale Price: $514.00 <- this is what you'll actually pay for the pistol
    Addit'l Fees: $22.95 <- S/H
    Tax: $35.98
Sub Total: $572.93 <- OTD price = Deposit + Balance Due
    DEPOSIT: ($179.75)
    BALANCE DUE: $393.18

To see how much it would be in your area, click "Instant Quote". This will send you to a page with the three closest dealers per the zip code you entered. I recommend expanding the search to 25 miles or so. Then search for the dealer with the best price. A nice thing about Davidson's is that they give you a Lifetime Warranty. May not be necessary for a S&W, but still nice to have.

Bud's is probably the closest in price. They have it for $535, but if you pay by CC it's an additional 3% which brings it up to $551.05. Add an FFL transfer fee of $25-$35 and you're already up to $576-$586. Davidson's is cheaper and they still throw in the Lifetime Warranty.

I saw some at a gun show NIB for $450-$475ish. I can't remember the exact price, since I wasn't looking at buying one. But they were only slightly more expensive than the XD's.

They are on sale around here for $499. You just have to decide which one you want. Smith and Wesson has a nice magazine that lists all the models available.
