    Glock 28 Information

Has anyone had expirence with the Glock 28 ? I was recently told that it is now for sale in the US. I know it is the same size as the Glock 26 and 27 and I know the downside of the .380 but if available it may make a good CCW for my wife and the ten rounds would be twice the capacity of her S&W 638 and the trigger would be easier for her to manage. Thanks for any information you can give me. I am waiting for a return call from Glock but they are now closed for the day.

it's not for sale in America. it doesn't have enough import points.

besides, it's the same exact size as the glock 19 9mm--no point in a less powerful round in the same package. (capacity is the same too)

    Actually, that'd be the 25.

The 28 is the same size as a 26.

But you are correct, it's not available here in the states.

Not for sale here. Also, being direct blowback it has more felt recoil than the 9x19mm 26.

For those who carry .45 ACPs, they wonder why carry a .40. For those who carry a .40, they wonder why carry a 9mm. For those who carry a 9mm, they wonder why carry a .380.

Because someone wants to? Could it be that simple?

In the last Glock magazine (whatever the name is), it listed one .380 model as "not available in the US" but the other model gave no such notice. Humm?

Glock does not say it is not available in the US on their web site.

The 25 and 28 do not have enough import points to be imported.

My bad....in small print it says law enforcement and military agency sales only. Now I need to find if an individual LEO can purchase or it has to be an agency. Thanks for all your help. They may be trying to increase their points as the web site shows ajustable sights on it. So I can get a 9mm or .40 in the same size package but not a blowback .380.

Exactly, or so far as we know at this point in time. They may figure out a way to change that however despite the political times. Money talks, and...well, you know the rest. In an ever increasing downward economy here in America, a lot of industries are seeking new ways to market or meet federal regulations in order to maintain sales. Who knows what could happen. We all know there are loopholes in lots of laws and regulations, and how they can be twisted and bent by those with gravitational pull for their benefit. One of the original sins...greed. Nothing is impossible. Anything can happen.

By the way........what is the downside of the .380 auto compared to nothing?
It's always a certain perspective isn't it? There's a reason for everything. Remember that, and Glock on!

It has to be an agency purchase. Maybe an individual LEO could on a purchase order, but I dont know why anyone would do that.

Cause I like the Glock format and trigger and I like the idea of 10 rounds instead of 5 for my wife and I want my S&W 638 back and I am sometimes a little different in my wants and desires than others and if you build it they will come. Agency purchase usually means it is registered to the agency and not for individual officer purchase so maybe I am SOL on this little venture of mine.

This was the reason for my why question, not why Glock or why 380.
