Anyone here carry a Walther P99?

I was wondering if anyone here EDC's one of these guns? I've looked at these guns and they are really nice indeed. If you carry one of these how do you do it IWB or OWB?

For those who own both,is there big difference in size between the P99 and P99 compact?
Snub nose revolvers, the original concealed carry guns.

I think it is just barrel length

I think it is just a matter of barrel length.

The difference is in the grip size. The P99c grip is about 1 inch shorter than the regular size and the magazine holds 10 instead of 15. The P99 is a superb pistol with innovative features and should be seriously considered. I carry a PPS because I need ultra-concealability but I was drawn to the P99 during my search as it was just such an impressive gun.

Here's a comparison between the full size and the compact in 9mm with the AS trigger system.

The dimensions for the compact are:
    3.5-inch barrel length
    6.6-inch length
    4.3-inch height
    1.3-inch width
    10-round magazines
    18.7 ounces

    The full size dimensions are:
    4-inch barrel length
    7.1-inch length
    5.3-inch height
    1.3-inch width
    15-round magazines
    21.2 ounces

For comparison to the compact here are the dimensions for a Glock 26:
    3.46-inch barrel length
    6.29-inch length
    4.17-inch height
    1.18-inch width
    10-round magazines
    19.75 ounces

The Glock is slightly smaller in all dimensions, but it's just a tad heavier. IMO the ergos of the Walther grip and it's superior trigger totally make up for it's marginally larger size.

I carry a full sized P99 in .40S&W every day in an OWB holster. No problem for me with either a proper sized shirt or jacket. I also have a P99C in 9mm and it is just a little smaller and of course hides a little easier.

Proper belt and cover garment along with a good holster with the proper cant and they brcome invisible.

Price of mags seems to be a long standing problem with Walther. Availability of P99 mags shouldn't be that bad. Holsters as far as I can see are readily available from several vendors. Try Comp Tac / M Tac for Kydex and hybrid holsters. Fast turnaround time, good quality and great customer service.

For mags check out CDNN under S&W mags. I've picked up mags there for my P99c for $19 each which is much better than I can find than for my Sig.

yeah the mtac only supports the pps....i saw the cdnn mag deals but was unsure if the S&W99 mags would be actually good since those pistols had a lot of issues. still not certain if i'll get a p99 or p99c or even get one at all. hard to justify the extra cost really....my dealer has a better deal on the pps. i've shot the pps too and liked it but $50 mags is just ridiculous when glock mags are always on sale for $19.

Klash, the SW99 mags are identical so no worries about their construction. I know Crossbreed has the mold for the P99's and I love their SuperTuck!

    I have the same set up. 40 in a 1st gen P99, and 9mm in P99c.

The compact only comes in 2nd & 3rd gens. I use a Kramer scabbard for both. I don't know if Kramer makes this holster anymore. I've had mine since 2000.
