    Cz 75 d

I just bought a new CZ, it looks the guide rod is bent a little. Doesn't look stressed, but it is plastic. I'm thinking of getting a metal guide rod. Suggestions?

Also, I have some 9mm NATO and some 9mm+P JHP. These work well for my SIG, they should be safe and work well in the CZ, yes?

Thanks. I was digging around the manual, and it doesn't have the usual "+P is okay, but not +P+" type of warning most of the others do.

The plastic guide rod will work fine but the steel rod is a nice upgrade so why not. The CZ 75 is a great handgun.

This is odd. I just realized there is a CZ 75 D Compact, and a CZ 75 PCR, which looks identical, but ISN'T, apparently.

Big Taco will make you a custom rod if you ask him to.

The PCR has an alloy frame, and a different rear sight.

Here's CZ 75 D PCR with a stainless steel guide rod that I purchased from Kevin Quinlan over on the CZ forum back in 07 for $15.50 shipped. Much nicer then the OE polymer guide rod.

Nice looking little pistol. I've always liked the PCR. I hadn't heard of Mr. Quinlan, so I had a good friend fabricate me a stainless guide rod for my CZ 75B. (Seems like a good time for a gratuitous CZ pic...)

I see that now. This one is a bit lighter. I'm not sure I like the sights, though.

The 75's are fantastic pistols. I wouldn't worry to much about the guide rod, but there are plenty of good options if you want to replace it with a metal one. Also, I would no worry about shooting high pressure ammo, the pistol is very well built.

I definitely agree with all of that. I only went to a stainless guide rod because I wanted a nicer looking part, and not because there was ever any doubt about the synthetic one being sufficient. As for high pressure ammo, the CZ 75B and its derivatives are the last autos I would expect to come apart.
