Weekend before last I purchased a LNIB used HK USP Compact in 9mm; took it to the range and absolutely fell in love with the feel and accuracy. The next day I was strolling through Walmart and noticed that .40 S&W ammunition was really cheap ($29 for 100 round WWB). I went home and looked online for a bigger brother to my recently acquired HK and found a compact in .40 S&W on sale at Bud's; three days later I now have the beginnings of nice little HK family.....

Very nice! I have the .40c and love it! Accuracy is excellent. about a thousand flawless rounds through mine! I've always wanted a colt 1911 and an AR, so those are likely next up, but each day that goes by makes me want a full size .45 USP more and more! (mainly for HD with a light, would be an awesome combo!) Besides it would be just plain fun if I could shoot a full size as good or better than my compact! The colt 1911 is deffinitly next but where my spare money goes after that is certainly up in the air! (another HK pistol, or AR..*note I have some good [bolt action] hunting rifles, not just handguns* ) Every time I shoot mine and each day I carry I become more of an HK addict...

BTW - I highly recommend the flat magazine floorplates! They seem (for me) a little easier to conceal. I have 2 12 round mags with flat floorplates and another (12 rnd) magazine on the way with a flat floorplate on backorder from midway. They seem to trickle in but worth the wait. I have 2 10 round standard (extended) mags that came with the gun and my 2 12 rounders... my 3rd twelve rounder was an impulse buy the other night...I was feeding my HK addiction by looking at HK stuff and it just happened... I didn't go all out like you and get another whole gun though!

congrats, i obtained a vompact USP in .45 this weekend, and it will now be a nice compliment to my Sig stainless 220r. The only thing Id like to add to mine would be a new set of rear sights, possibly the lazer sights if they make them for the USP. Nice family your starting there.

I've owned the USP .40 compact for 7 years and have fired several thousand rounds through it. The gun has a wonderful trigger in both SA and DA, and is lightweight and compact. I use it as my bedside gun now.

The HK USPc 9mm is my favorite range gun. Several folks at my range have purchased them after trying mine. Destined to go down in gun history as a classic.
Here's my KH dated stainless... to me the best looking guns HK ever produced.

I found the used 9mm for $550, as new never fired, with three 13 round mags. Bud's had the .40 on sale for $709 advertised with two 12 round mags but it showed up with three :)Originally Posted by ripley16

Yes! The H&K USP compact 9mm is my absolute fav. I also like to use the added grip.

Here is my HK in a Comptac Minatuer holster. It is a good weapon, just hate the mag release. Its not my favorite. This one is chambered in 357 Sig.
I practice the 2nd Amendment....alot
Yep, I'm happy with it along with a fine horse hide belt from The Beltman.

Hows the recoil on the USP .40 and 9mm compared to the P2000? I've shot the P2000 in .40 and it seems to have alot of felt recoil, sort of like a sting in the palm. I shot my girls Glock 23 and it was night and day with the recoil. The P2000 was very accurate though. Hope I'm not hijacking the thread I may create a new one.

I don't really have much to compare it to, especially in .40 but I don't really notice it at all. In fact I've always heard that HK was quite the master at pistol designs that dampen felt recoil.
