    Nice Gun/Holster Pics Always Appreciated.

How long have you carried in that holster?

Just wondering how you liked that Active Retention Locking Mechanism Gizmo.

Does it slow up your draw at all?

Any function related problems with it thus far?

I tried to convince my agency to allow me to privately purchase and use that holster on-duty with my SIGARMS P229....no dice; my agency policy dictates thumbbreaks.

Interesting looking holster. Don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it.

I've been wearing that holster about 3 or 4 months.

At my job that Active Retention Locking Mechanism is just the right thing to have. I come in close contact with people at work that I have no trust in what-so-ever (illegals with big heads and chips on their shoulders and the people who come to the plant to try to collect money from them they haven't paid).

No way does it slow up my draw (it's a very fast draw holster) and no function related problems.

This holster has gotten some every bad press from so called experts. But they expect to play in the mud, roll around on the ground and fight each other in the process of using the holster. I expect those same people wouldn't like a 1911 if they got a pebble stuck in the end of the barrel while playing their games. Works great for IDPA, civilian use and security jobs.

That's the button you have to push in order to draw the weapon.

I do not recommend this holster for anyone who cannot walk and chew bubblegun(m) at the same time.

Depending upon what artz was looking at, that "mechanism" is either the "release button" that unlocks the gun, or the adjustable cant mechanism.

I liked my SERPA release holster from Blackhawk, but decided to move "up" to a leather Laredo Defender from K&D Holsters.

I still consider the Blackhawk to be a good holster, but it doesn't conceal my Glock 23 anywhere near as well as my Laredo Defender.

And, I don't recommend any gun or holster to someone who can't chew gum and walk at the same time. The technique to drawing from the SERPA retention holster is something that comes very easily with a little practice, and really doesn't require any "advanced" motor skills.

Do you have a website for the Loredo Holster? I would be interested in seeing one.

Sweet OEF!! When did you pick up the 45 acp? Last time you piped in you were looking for a Kel-Tec p-11.. or smaller?!

Good choice BTW.. I shot mine for the first time today.. I am not the best shot by any means.. but the thing kept inside 1/2" groups at seven yards... At 10 and 15 yards my groups started getting much bigger.. maybe 3" or so.. all in the black though.. at 25 yards I didn't do so well.. but that's because I am not a very good shot. I need more practice.

.45 is kind of expensive though!! but.. its cheaper than crack cocain.. I suppose if crack heads can afford to put the crap in their arms.. I can afford to buy .45 practice ammo!! LOL

I wanted a Rem or Savage 308 and my wife said I couldn't have one so I believed her and bought the 45. I found out it's against the law to CCW while in a guard uniform so the pocket gun idea went down the tubes. I'll get the 308 next.

    That's why I reload 45.

Nice, I have a Serpa for my 1911. Works well.
