    New shoes for the P238

I really didn't like the look of the stock plastic fluted panels on my basic Nitron model P238 so I looked to see if anyone who had upgraded their grips would be willing to sell their factory G10, Blackwood, or Rosewood grips. No joy :(

So I looked around and found these Brazilian Cherry stocks that were said to be slightly thicker than stock. They feel great in the hand and to my eye look much better than the plastic.

The blue magazines are Colt Mustang made by Metaform. I re-profiled the lips with a Dremel tool to match the Sig factory magazine. They work perfectly :)

I'm quite pleased with this tiny piece made in May '10. I have ~300 rounds through it and only had issues with what I deem as defective (slightly oversized brass vis-a-vis SAMMI specs) Herters FMJ fodder. It is definitely a KEEPER

What did you do with your original grips? The ones that came with my plain-Jane p238 are a light grey that just look odd. If your original fluted grips are the dark colored ones, I would be willing to take them off your hands.

My originals are the fluted black plastic panels. I tend to keep all the original parts in the original factory boxes. So the triggers in my Dan Wesson 1911s I swapped out for short Greider-Videckis along with original grips replaced with Sarge's gems are packed away. Heck even my vintage AMT 380 Backup II I bought in 1997 that the Sig P238 replaces as a BUG still has it's original stock plastic grips around as shown here:

But.... PM me with an offer and we'll see where that goes....

They were made by Hideyuki Nishimiya. They're CNC cut and finished with oil based Polyurethane. Mine are 0.07" thicker per side than stock.

    Another shot of my grips:

Great looking grip panels you found. Good job with the Colt Mustang magazine too.

Thanks! The two I re-profiled really didn't take long to do and as said they work flawlessly.
